Balding Remedies

People often ask us about balding remedies and about thinning hair and regrowth of hair. Some may think balding is just a natural part of aging. They may think it is something they just have to get used to as they grow older. That's not true. There are now many balding remedies available.

Hair loss can be caused by a number of things. Sometimes it is hereditary. Other times it can be caused by things like illness or surgery. In these cases, hair loss will generally be temporary and resolve itself in a few months. Hair loss can also occur as a side effect of some medications.

As you can see, there are many possible causes of balding. The proper balding remedy depends partly on the cause of balding. Well talk about treatment in a moment, but first let's talk about prevention.

Balding is often hereditary, so prevention can be difficult. There are a few things you can do, however.

The best prevention is a healthy diet. Hair is made of protein, so it is important to eat enough protein in your diet. This can help with healthy hair and regrowth of any lost hair.

Hair also needs certain vitamins, such as B vitamins, in order to grow properly. Taking a daily vitamin and mineral supplement is a good way to keep your hair healthy.

If you do notice your hair is thinning, starting balding remedies right away may prevent further hair loss.

There are a number of balding remedies available, depending on the cause of hair loss.

If hair is lost due to illness or surgery, it will usually regrow in a couple of months. If it is due to medication, if will usually grow back after the medication is stopped. Do not stop taking any medication without talking to your doctor, though.

There are remedies for other types of hair loss, or to speed the regrowth of hair in cases like those mentioned above.

There are some topical creams such as Rogaine that have been shown to be fairly effective for hair and regrowth. These may be messy to apply, though, and only help about 1/3 of those who try them. Additionally, Rogaine does not help frontal baldness.

There are oral medications such as Propecia. These have a number of possible side effects, including sexual side effects.

Then there are hair transplants. This is a surgical procedure in which the surgeon removes a plug of hair from an area where hair has not yet thinned, and transplants it in an area where hair has been lost. You must carefully research the surgeon though. Nothing looks as bad as a poorly done hair transplant.

One of the more increasingly popular balding remedies is laser therapy hair loss treatment. Laser therapy is a non-surgical procedure that uses a device that directs light energy from 30 rotating positions, hitting 600 places on your head. The laser light is meant to stimulate cell metabolism and repair damaged cells. Treatment by lasers for hair and regrowth often has to be repeated, sometimes as often as once every month.

In order to avoid the side effects and inconvenience of medical treatment methods, more and more people are looking for natural alternative balding remedies. These natural treatments often carry other health benefits, as well.

See a doctor if your hair loss is sudden or severe, or if you are experiencing any health problems. Your hair loss may be caused by a scalp infection. Hair loss can also sometimes be caused by a serious illness such as thyroid disease. Ask your doctor about balding remedies and laser therapy hair loss treatment.
